about

If you’re looking for the birthplace of garage rock, check out Tacoma, Washington in the 1960s. I’ve always been aware of bands like The Wailers, The Sonics, and The Ventures, but I didn’t really appreciate their influence until I became a musician myself. The amazing part is that you could drop this song into the middle of the grunge era in Seattle and it would still kick everyone’s ass 30 years after it came out. -Charles
