about

I have so much to say about the Dharma Bums that I don’t know where to start. From about 1989-1992, they were my favorite local band, and maybe the best live band around. The OK Hotel was an all-ages club in Seattle that had an earlier curfew than other venues. I remember seeing the Bums there one night when the crowd wouldn’t let them stop, even after the house lights came up and the show had to end. So Jeremy comes out and sings another song a capella from the front of the stage in full light. Those moments stay with you, and inspire you. In our rock ‘n’ roll dreams, I wanted to be Jeremy and my friend James wanted to be guitarist Eric Lovre. We used to play this song together when I was first learning how to play guitar and too shy to sing in front of anyone else. James passed away last year, but I played his guitar on this track and it will always remind me of him.
